Home E About Abaray Law, P.A.

Gregory P. Abaray was admitted to the Florida Bar in September of 1996. Greg is a member of the Florida Justice Association. Greg Abaray has been practicing in Polk County since 1996. He started out as a Public Defender ensuring the rights of accused individuals. It was there that he honed his trial skills which promptly promoted him to Felony Division Chief. Greg was recognized for his tough litigation tactics which resulted with him winning the Hard Ball Award in 2000 for the aggressive approach to litigating for his client’s rights. Soon thereafter he went into private practice focusing on civil litigation, which includes personal injury and insurance claims. After a couple of years in private practice working for a small local firm, Greg began his own firm in 2003. It was there that he fine tuned his trial skills, and ultimately was rewarded in 2008 by becoming Board Certified in Civil Trial Law. Less than 1% of Florida lawyers are certified in Civil Trial Law. Board certification requires trying a number of cases, including as lead counsel, peer review (both judges and other attorneys), and a rigorous exam. Greg has been recertified in 2013, 2018, and most recently 2023 and handles personal injury, automobile accidents, insurance disputes, medical malpractice, nursing home, civil litigation, and wrongful death.
